Xu Bing said that in the 122nd session we will further carry out the initiative and tap the cooperation potential, to bring trade cooperation between China and B&R countries to another level.

Enhance cooperation with government departments and industrial and commercial organizations in B&R countries. At present, the Canton Fair has signed partnership agreement with 45 industrial and commercial organizations in 32 B&R countries, providing consulting, exhibition attendance and participation, and trade promotion services. We will organize 14 “Belt & Road” national delegations to visit and source at the fair. We will consolidate our cooperation with industrial and commercial organizations such as Federation of Indian Export Organizations, Bureau of Egyptian Conventions and Conferences, Malaysian Bureau of Trade Promotion etc. Also we’ve built close partnership with Bulgarian Bureau of SMEs, Trade Promotion Bureau of Myanmar, Trade Promotion Bureau of Pakistan and other government organizations, to help these companies participate in the construction of Belt and Road through the Canton Fair.

Increase invitation to B&R buyers. We’ve worked with Chinese embassies and consulates overseas, trade promotion government organs of overseas countries, industrial and commercial organizations to publish the latest situation of the fair. We’ve focused on marketing, promotion and invitation to the B&R countries. 48% of direct mails sent and more than half of the Internet Promotion Campaign are targeting Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the UAE and other B&R countries. In the meanwhile, we’ve launched more targeted invitation to buyers of B&R countries. According the market characteristics, we’ve made better use of social media, search engine, and overseas media to publish relevant advertorials and advertisement, to increase the conversion rate of buyer attendance. By now, our Facebook fans of B&R countries have reached 520,000, accounting for 60% of the total.

Exhibiting companies from countries along the route account for 60% of the total in the International Pavilion. 341 (55% of the total) exhibiting companies from 17 B&R countries with 583 (59.3% of the total) booths participate in the International Pavilion, covering all 6 product zones. Egypt, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Thailand will organize national delegations.

Launch “B&R” thematic trade matchmaking activities. We will hold “UAE on the Belt and Road”—China-UAE Sourcing Matchmaking” on Oct 18, helping exhibitors and buyers get to know favorable policies and discuss latest industrial trend.
